Dr. Katikar Tipayalai is a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Director of the Center for Labor Economics and HR Management at Chulalongkorn University. Her areas of expertise include labor economics, migration, human capital, and spatial economics.
Her research emphasizes empirical and spatial analyses to inform evidence-based public policy. Notable works include Assessing spatial impact of educational attainment on poverty reduction in Thailand (Education Economics, 2023), Bridging the Digital Divide: Assessment of the digital skills of migrant workers and the perspective of employers in Thailand (IOM, 2023), and Impact of International Labor Migration on Regional Economic Growth in Thailand (Journal of Economic Structures, 2020).
Dr. Katikar received the Japanese Government Scholarship to pursue her Ph.D. in International Development at Nagoya University. She also holds an MSc in Human Resource Management and Consulting from the University of Bath and an MA in Business and Managerial Economics from Chulalongkorn University.
