
Thammarak Moenjak is the Senior Director of the Bank of Thailand's Digital Currency Policy and Development Unit.
A career central banker, Thammarak has worked extensively in the areas of monetary policy, reserves management, corporate strategy, financial institutions policy, international collaboration, and central bank digital currency (CBDC). He is also a member of World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Decentralized Finance. His previous roles include Chief Representative at the Bank of Thailand London Representative Office (2021–2024), Assistant Chief Representative at the BOT’s New York Representative Office (2008–2009), and Lee Kuan Yew Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School (2013).
Thammarak is the author of three books: Central Banking at the Frontier: Creating a Digital Financial Landscape (Emerald Publishing, 2024); Central Banking: Theory and Practice in Sustaining Monetary and Financial Stability (Wiley, 2014); and Monetary Policy: Theory and Practice (Chulalongkorn University Press, 2012, in Thai language).
Thammarak has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Melbourne, a Master’s degree in Public Management from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, a B.Sc.(Econ) from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor of Laws from Sukothai Thammathirat Open University.
