
Dr. Thanapol Srithanpong received a Bachelor of Economics, major in Business and Managerial Economics (First Class Honors with Gold Medal Award), from Chulalongkorn University. He was granted the Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT Scholarship) to further his graduate studies and received his Master of Business and Commerce and Ph.D. in Business and Commerce from Keio University, Japan. He has experience in conducting research in the field of international economics, especially for studies that are related to international trade, foreign direct investment, and firm performance. His works have been published in economic journals both domestically and internationally. Apart from this, he used to work as an information officer for the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Tokyo, and as a Thai-Japanese business interpreter for Ministry of Commerce, Department of International Trade Promotion, Tokyo, during his Ph.D. studies in Japan. His current position is senior economist at Siam Commercial Bank, Economic Intelligence Center (SCB EIC).
