Warapong is a seasoned economist and sustainable investor based in Bangkok, Thailand. He has a diverse professional background spanning the public sector, academia, and private enterprises. His areas of expertise include sustainability practices (ESG), financial markets, and public policies.
As the Head of the Sustainability Office, Warapong plays a pivotal role in formulating and implementing sustainability strategies, policies, and processes. In his previous roles, including Director of Sustainable Investing at the Government Pension Fund, and Deputy Director of the Reserve Management Department at the Bank of Thailand, he showed a steadfast commitment to advancing strategic and sustainable financial management.
Warapong received a bachelor’s degree in economics (First Class Honours) from Chulalongkorn University, and an MPhil and a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge, UK, with full financial support from the Cambridge-Thai Foundation in collaboration with the Cambridge Overseas Trust and the Shell Centenary Fund. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Empirical Finance and Real Estate Economics. He also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Asset Management.
