Chaleampong Kongcharoen is an assistant professor at Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand. He received a B.A. in Economics and M.A. in Economics from Thammasat University. He earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University with fields in macroeconomics and time series econometrics.
His research interests include time-series econometrics, macroeconometrics, and inequality. He is also a Center for Research on Inequality and Social Policy (CRISP) member. He has extensive experience conducting research projects for various organizations covering macroeconomic modeling, policy evaluations, and inequality measurements. He also published the Introduction to Financial Econometrics textbook. His current research topics are multidimensional inequality and large data for the macroeconomic model.
