Nakarin Amarase is Siam Commercial Bank’s Head of External Affairs, a post he has held since December of 2022, a part-time lecturer at Mahidol University International College, a research advisor of the Thailand Development Research Institute’s research project funded by the National Research Council of Thailand, and a principal investigator of the Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, ’s research project funded by the National Research Council of Thailand. He is an industrial organization economist with 15 years of experience in economic policy design, commercial banking, and academia.
Nakarin is a member of the National Strategy’s Master Plan Sub-Committee: Competitive Enhancement, the National Qualifications Framework’s Sub-Committee: Data System Integration, Steering Sub-Committee for the Accelerated Implementation of the Government’s Policies as assigned by the Prime Minister: Data System Integration, E-Workforce Ecosystem Sub-committee appointed by the National Reform Committee on Culture, Sports, Labor and Human Resource Development, Human Resource Development and Training Coordinating Sub-Committee: S-Curve Targeted Industries and the Curriculum Development Committee: Mahidol University International College, Bachelor of Business Administration Program, and was a member of the National Wage Sub-Committee: Bangkok Province during 2018–2019.
He had worked as the deputy director of the Bank of Thailand’s Monetary Policy Group and served as the personal assistant to the Bank of Thailand’s Governor, Veerathai Santiprabhob.
Nakarin earned a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Michigan State University, as well as an M.A. in International Economics and Finance and a Bachelor of Economics (Second Class Honors) from Chulalongkorn University.
