Voravee has an interdisciplinary PhD in Human Dimensions and Ecosystem Management Science, as well as a background in economics and statistics (Utah State University, USA), which has given her competence in the difficult context of environmental concerns and sustainability to date.
Currently, she serves as Assistant Professor at Faculty of Economics, Khon Kaen University.
Her research focuses on natural resources, environmental economics, and land and water resources. Her most recent research project is named "A Comparative Study of Food-System Value Chains of Alternative Rice Cultivation Methods in Northeast Thailand," and it is supported by the United Nations Environment (UNEP). This work also extends to the next term, which focuses on the effects of sustainable rice production on rice value chains.
