She received Ph.D. degree in Economics from University of California San Diego, USA, in 2012, under the Royal Thai Government scholarship After graduating, she worked for the Office of Industrial Economics, Ministry of Industry In Dec 2015, she joined the faculty of Economics, Chulalongkorn University.
Her main research interest is in the field of International trade More specifically, her work exploits detailed micro-level data in understanding theoretical mechanisms behind macroeconomic consequences of frictions in the labor market and the financial market Her dissertation studied how trade impact wages of workers with similar observables employed in heterogeneous firms She investigates the firm-level adjustment and optimization under unemployment and skill mismatched, and shows that labor shortage constitute one empirically documentable mechanism through which globalized firms pay higher wages: they search more intensively for workers, suffer more from hiring constraints, and increase their wage offers to raise adequately skilled employment following tariff cuts.
