
Kannika Thampanishvong
Currently, Kannika serves as Section Head at Puey Ungphakorn Institute for Economic Research. Kannika’s research employs economic tools together with big data to understand the impacts of climate change and climate policies on the Thai economy, including climate finance. Her work includes several studies related to the effects of climate change on Thailand’s economic and financial sectors, and she has published in international journals.
She was formerly Senior Research Fellow at Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) and a lecturer in the School of Economics and Finance, University of St Andrews.
Kannika obtained Ph.D. degree in Economics from University of Warwick, United Kingdom. Additionally, she was awarded the Puey Ungphakorn Golden Medal Award for Best Young Economist in 2021.
