Dr. Runchana serves as Deputy Director, International Department, Bank of Thailand. She has work experience in monetary policy, exchange rate policy, macroeconomic modelling and forecasting, monetary operations and financial markets, macroeconomics, financial stability, and financial institutions.
She was also a part-time lecturer for bachelor and master courses in Monetary Policy and Financial Markets at Thammasat University. In addition, Dr. Runchana had several years of experiences at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) – as an economist and a financial sector expert. She was Mission Chief for technical assistance missions to countries in Asia and Africa in the areas of monetary policy and financial markets, as well as an assessor for Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP). Moreover, she was also an IMF Financial Stability Advisor to the National Bank of Cambodia.
Dr. Runchana holds bachelor and master degrees in Economics from University of Cambridge, and a Ph.D. in Economics (Monetary Policy) from University of Bristol.
