Dr. Santitarn currently serves as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee at the Bank of Thailand, a Future Economy advisor at Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), a subcommittee member of the drafting platform economy legislation, and an advisor on AI policy to the parliamentary special committee.
Dr. Santitarn was the Group Chief Economist and Managing Director at Sea Group, Southeast Asia’s largest technology company and the parent company of Garena, Shopee, and SeaMoney. He was also Head of Emerging Asia Economics, Credit Suisse (Singapore). His work responsibility was analyzing and forecasting economy as well as counseling in investment to worldwide funds investing in ten main economies in Asia (Thai, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong). Moreover, he worked at Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), Fiscal Policy Research Institute Foundation, and Faculty of Economics, Chulalongkorn University.
Dr. Santitarn holds Ph.D. in Public Policy Analysis from Harvard University (University’s Scholarship) and master’s degree in International Development from Harvard University. He received bachelor’s and master’s in economics from London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE).
