Chaiporn Vithessonthi is a Professor of Finance at Sunway University Business School in Malaysia. Previously he served as the Acting Associate Dean for Administration and International Relations at the Faculty of Economics, Khon Kaen University. Prior to joining Khon Kaen University, he had been a Senior Lecturer in Finance (equivalent to an Associate Professor in North American universities) at the School of Business, the University of Otago in New Zealand. He earned doctorate degree (Doktor der Wirtschaftswissenschaften) at the University of St. Gallen (ranked #5 in European Business School Rankings 2016 by Financial Times). His areas of specialization are asset pricing, corporate finance, financial economics, financial intermediation, and international finance. His articles have been published in journals such as Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, and International Review of Financial Analysis. Since January 2015 he has been ranked in Top 100 Young Economists in the world (5 years or less) by RePEc (https://ideas.repec.org/top/top.young.html).
